SEO Tip

Make your website secure with HTTPS

HTTPS keeps your website and site users safe, and it helps to build trust with both your site users and search engines.

I won’t get into the nitty gritty of what HTTPS is, but if your website is not using a secure hypertext transfer protocol (HTTPS) this is your message to go change that!

For many years website security has been a Google ranking factor, but in 2018 Google turned things up a notch and started adding a “Not Secure” warning message to websites that aren’t secured with HTTPS.

If you let your security certificate expire, Google will display a message to your potential website users that “Your connection is not private”.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not super motivated to continue on to view a website after seeing that message!
